Peripheral neuropathy is identified by nerve pain. People generally describe the pain as stabbing, burning or tingling. Neuropathy is divided into 4 main categories:

Polyneuropathy where nerves are affected evenly on the right and left sides of the body. This type is typically seen in diabetes and alcohol abuse.

Mononeuropathy involves one nerve and is most often due to a nerve compression due to increased compartment tone. Also commonly due to injury. Examples of this would be carpal tunnel or ulnar nerve entrapment at the elbow.

Mononeuritis multiplex is not symmetrical and has no clear pattern. It could be in the face and the left thigh.

Autonomic neuropathy is due to a decreased blood supply to the area due to autonomic dysfunction.

Your autonomics are a part of your brain stem that controls automatic functions in our body, like breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, etc. When these functions are altered, blood, oxygen and nutrient delivery to nerves suffer.

We combine traditional chiropractic, functional neurology and functional nutrition to get you relief that lasts. Living a normal life again really is possible.
